This property was built on a challenging sloping site, which required innovative solutions to manage surface water runoff from the fields above. To address this, five independent step foundations were cast, allowing water to flow beneath the building without compromising its structure. Blockwork was carefully constructed above these foundations to reach the ground level at the highest point of the site. A beam-and-block floor system was then installed, creating a stable base for the timber frame and ensuring durability.

The timber frame, pre-fabricated off-site in panels, was engineered to streamline the construction process. While the groundworks were underway, the frame was being prepared, allowing for its immediate erection upon completion of the foundations. The main structure, crafted from oak, features stunning visible A-frames that rise from the ground floor to support the roof. Softwood panels were seamlessly integrated to form the walls and roof, completing the envelope of the building. Once insulated, the structure was weatherproofed with a corrugated roof, windows, and doors, enabling the internal works to commence.

Internally, the property was fitted out with the highest standards of craftsmanship. Electrical and plumbing systems were expertly installed, followed by plastering, carpentry, and other finishes. Externally, Siberian larch cladding was meticulously applied, with great attention to detail ensuring the desired aesthetic was achieved. The project was completed with tiled floors, a fully fitted kitchen and bathrooms, and finishing touches that tied together a functional yet beautifully executed home. The result is a seamless combination of thoughtful design, sustainable practices, and superior craftsmanship.
