Burncoose Stables

Nr Redruth

This old stable is part of the Burncoose Estate and remains in it’s original state. The stables are still undisturbed but the area above has been converted into a holiday flat.

The first part of the project was to remove the roof slates, care was taken with this as the slates were to be reused. New fascias, rafter and appatures for the roof light were carried out and the slates went back onto the roof once all was dry. Once all was dry work proceeded inside, all floors were taken up and a fire break and insulation installed to meet the current building regulations as the stables remained underneath.

The next part of the work was to form all the interior walls as this was one open space, forming a bathroom, bedroom, cupboard space and kitchen, dining, lounge, area. The sloping ceiling to follow the roof kept the A frames exposed giving space and character with the new kitchen and bathroom carefully chosen to be in keeping with the property. The finish on this property was fantastic
